Meghan Markle follows a healthy diet and she has some set of rules that never let her derailed from her routine, which include occasional indulgences.

After moving back from the United States to the UK in August 2026 with husband Prince Harry and kids, Archie and Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex likely won’t be forgetting her health-conscious Californian lifestyle anytime soon.

Here are some insights into Meghan’s carefully curated diet

Skipping breakfast is not in Meghan’s book of rules:

Meghan’s breakfast is filled with nutritious stuff like oat meal made with almond or soya milk, eggs, banana, agave etc.

Royal writers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed in royal biography FindingFreedom what the Duchess exactly eats in after sunrise, writing “Her morning ritual started with a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon, followed by her favourite breakfast of steel-cut oats (usually made with almond or soy milk) with bananas and agave syrup for sweetness.”

Meghan’s favourite time of the day? It’s Lunch:

For lunch, the mom-of-two enjoys heavier meals like burgers, fries or sometimes salad.

She once said, “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me.”

Meghan also talked about eating burgers all her life with Harry in her 2025 Valentine’s Day post.

The duchess is a conscious eater:

Meghan is mindful of what goes in her body, though she occasionally eats burgers and fries but she prefers vegan and gluten free diet.

In 2015 she told <a href="https://health.kporia.com/best-essential-oils-for-relieving-anxiety/” title=”Best essential oils for relieving anxiety”>Best Health, “I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.”

“But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”

    She is a green-juice diva:

Speaking to Today, she explained: “It’s easy to fall into the trap of rushing for a coffee when you hit that 4 p.m. slump. But if I blend some apple, kale, spinach, lemon, and ginger in my Vitamix in the morning and bring it to work, I always find that sipping on it is a much better boost than a cup of espresso.”

    Meghan also do healthy snacking:

Her go-to snacks are “apple slices” and “peanut butter,” Omid and Carolyn mentioned in their book.

The Suits actress knows how to make vegetables interesting to eat:

Meghan makes some beautiful crudités platters especially for her children so they never miss the nutrition they need.

“We have them every day because I think that’s why our kids love vegetables so much. You make it present beautifully – you eat with your eyes first,” she revealed in Episode Three of With Love, Meghan.

Sunday suppers are also her favorite part of the week:

Meghan is also big-fan of Sunday dinner which she have with her family and friends. It includes “lamb tagine,” ”pot roast” or “a hearty soup,” and “Filipino-style chicken adobo.”

She told Today, “I enjoy making slow-cooked food on Sundays.”

All in all, Meghan channels her love for cooking and creativity into genius ideas so she could maintain her diet as well as keep the joy alive that food brings to life.
